The Role of the Vagus Nerve in Health and Disease
The goal of this class is to introduce the Vagus Nerve as it applies to its regulatory function in mediating immunological functions. How it behaves as an inflammatory mediator and the sensory and organ system affected by dysfunctional physiological responses. In depth anatomy and embryology will be discussed. Several treatment concepts will be presented including Muscle Energy, Inhibitory Technique, Strain-counterstrain and other manual techniques associated with normalizing Vagus dysfunction.
