About Ursa

The Ursa Foundation, founded in 1976 is a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation providing advanced continuing education to health care professionals. All enrollees must be licensed, registered or certified with statutory authority to apply the techniques learned. Our philosophy is that the body is a functional unit and should be evaluated as such. Ursa courses are clinically oriented and scientifically based. Courses offer clinicians the opportunity to learn techniques and strategies to achieve a successful manual practice. Ursa courses provide information to help improve the quality of patient care and expedite the rehabilitation of athletes.

Our teaching faculty, Loren H. “Bear” Rex, DO, and Lino Cedros, ATC, MT, SP, continue to meet the high standards for which the Ursa Foundation is known. Ursa promotes a low pressure learning environment. Most courses emphasize a “hands-on” approach with laboratory time to demonstrate concepts and treatments presented in lecture; other classes are designed to utilize a lecture-only format. Ursa is a NATABOC approved provider.
